FASHION CONSTRUCTION PROJECT 1.
This skirt was my first ever design project in fashion construction. As a fashion merchandising student, I didn’t expect to enjoy fashion construction as much as I did. Being able to create a garment from start to finish was such a great learning experience and it really helped me understand the way clothing is constructed. Making this skirt my first semester in college was such a small, yet rewarding victory for me!
Little Green Pencil Skirt.
I made this skirt out of a green silk. Throughout this project, I learned how much time and effort goes into one garment. The idea for the design alone takes a lot of thought; thinking about what you want to make, how you need to make it, what materials will be required. The construction process of this skirt was so much fun. I truly enjoyed going to class with my green silk and my sewing box to create this fun little green pencil skirt!
